Coming to town for graduation, to visit friends, or catch up with family? Manhattan is full of so many enticing attractions it’s hard to choose just a few. We’re here to help. Here are our top 5 bucket list items for your weekend in The Little Apple®.

1. Visit the Festival of Lights.

As you drive into Manhattan it’s hard to miss the illuminating 65-foot tree located in the heart of Blue Earth Plaza. Thousands of lights light up Blue Earth Plaza every night through the end of the year. From the grand tree, a lighted tunnel, Santa’s sleigh, and so much more there is plenty to see at this festive display. While you’re there tune into 88.1 FM and watch the lights dance to music.

2. Grab dinner and drinks in one of our vibrant districts

It’s never hard to find a good, local place to eat in any of our vibrant districts. If you’re looking for a good burger, Kite’s, Tanner’s, or So Long Saloon in Aggieville are a great stop. Or grab a local brew Downtown at Manhattan Brewing Company or Tallgrass Taphouse. Head to the west side of town and try out Little Apple Brewing Company or Powercat Sports Grill. These are just a few of the great attractions in our districts. Once you’re done with dinner take a walk around the block. You might just find a store that’s calling your name or a mural that makes a perfect photo op.

3. Catch an act from Manhattan Town Center’s Holiday Performing Arts festival

Manhattan Town Center’s annual Holiday Performing Arts Festival is underway. Several acts from local choirs, bands, dance studios, and more take the stage in the mall’s east court every day from now until December 18. Check out the full schedule here. Plus, while you’re there stop by one of the 50 different stores for some holiday shopping.

4. Peruse the Midwest Dream Car Collection

The Midwest Dream Car Collection has over 65 different cars in their collection ranging from custom cars, muscle cars, exotic cars and classic cars. Learn about the story of each vehicle as you travel the floor. Plus it’s the only museum in Kansas with a self-serving beer wall!

5. Grab a grilled cheese mac and cheese from the Varsity truck

Nothing makes a better late-night snack than a grill cheese mac and cheese from the Varsity Food Truck that’s located in Aggieville in the alley between Bluemont and Moro. Grill cheese mac and cheese not quite your style? Try one of their famous donuts or a corn dog instead. Both options are sure to satisfy your late-night cravings.
