Sunflower Summer is a program of Kansas Tourism for Kansas residents May 25 - August 11, 2024.

This is a great way to explore our state with free admission to various museums, zoos, historical attractions, and nature centers. Have even more fun by participating in the Manhattan Passport for prizes!

Theaters & Performing Arts

McCain Auditorium & Nichols Theatre

Located on the K-State campus, McCain hosts an array of outstanding artists and attractions each year in the McCain Performance Series. From ballet to Broadway, jazz to chamber music, comedy to classic theatre, McCain has something for every taste. Also part of the K-State campus, Mark A. Chapman Theatre in Nichols Hall is home to numerous theater and dance productions.

Manhattan Arts Center

The arts in Manhattan are supported and encouraged by and through Manhattan Arts Center (MAC), which has enjoyed great success with its theatrical productions, Birdhouse and Jazz music concerts, gallery exhibitions and art classes. The Manhattan Arts Center sponsors and coordinates touring performances, exhibits and guest artists to the city. 
 

Columbian Theatre, Museum and Art Center

The Columbian Theatre, located in nearby Wamego, is a beautifully renovated 19th century opera house which offers gallery exhibitions, performing arts series and unique gift shop.
