"K-State Fans: Are You Ready?" is the popular rallying cry before the Wildcats' football team storms onto the field each Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The excitement fans exhibit at home games is cranked up before each season at Purple Power Play in the Park, hosted in City Park the Thursday and Friday before each season-opening football game. Larry Norvell Band Shell is the center of activity as vendors circle the park and K-State Pride of Wildcat Land performs on stage with cheerleaders and Classy Cat dancers.
Any appearance by Willie Wildcat sends children and adults alike into a frenzy of excitement. More fun, coaches address the throngs of purple-clad fans each night of the rally with fireworks to culminate the event.

There are multiple layers of involvement within the sport: player, manager/coach, umpire, scorekeeper or voracious fan. This exhibition contends with how each facet of the game is broken down into math and science.
