ake a walk downtown between the Manhattan Public Library and the Blue Earth Plaza to find the features in our Downtown Manhattan Art and Architecture Scavenger Hunt. We have taken photos of some old and new unique aspects of our beautiful downtown community. Notice the details and different features of each building. What's old, what's new?
Stop by the library atrium to pick up the scavenger hunt or download one using the link below. Write the address (or approximate location) under the corresponding photo. Fill it out and bring it back into the library for a small prize. As a fun addition, take a selfie in front of your favorite feature and post it! Tag us on social media!

This family-friendly event will include creating a delicious mocktail with a surprising fizzy element. Then we will dive right into some spooky STEM! Families will be creating a “Matter Monster” and a “Glove Ghost” as we explore the difference between an exothermic and endothermic reaction. These experiments can get a little messy, so be sure to cover your work surface for the event!
Registration price of $75 includes an experiment kit for ONE person to complete a Matter Monster and Ghost Glove, a special spooky drink, and a live Zoom step-by-step experiment with Dr. Evan Esquire from Science Explorers and Sunflower CASA. One-third of the registration is for the experiment kit, and the rest is a tax-deductible donation to Sunflower CASA. Additional Matter Monster kits can be purchased for an additional $25.
