2019 Friends of the Beach Museum of Art Gift Print Artist introduces Jeremiah Ariaz. Black Trail Riding Clubs have their roots in Creole culture formed in Southwest Louisiana in the eighteenth century. Trail rides are an opportunity for generations from rural parts of the state to gather and celebrate. These trail riders form a distinctive yet little known Louisiana subculture.Ariaz is a Great Bend product and associate professor of art at Louisiana State University who has captured these equestrian clubs in a series of photographs selected for this exhibition. Paintings and photographs in this exhibition are portraits of local individuals who portray features of our cultural environment and are part of the fabric of our community. Dick Beeman, Clive Fullagar and Luke Townsend are all local artists living in Manhattan. None of them have formal training in art.

Bring your friends and family to the "Friends of the K-State Gardens" September Stroll on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 6:30-8:30 pm. Stroll through the various garden beds and collections. Chat with Friends of the Gardens board members and The Gardens' volunteers. Master gardeners and a few K-State horticulture students will be available to answer questions. Enjoy the music, play a game of cornhole, or try a scavenger hunt to top off the evening.

Wildcats went 15-12 during 2018 season and return nine letter winners including honorable mention All-Americas Sarah Dixon and Gloria Mutiri.

U.S. Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo will deliver a Landon Lecture at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in McCain Auditorium.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Security measures require that all attendees pass through metal detectors when entering McCain Auditorium. This is a no concealed carry event. The clear bag policy used at K-State sporting events will be in effect for this lecture. Details on the security logistics can be found on the Landon Lecture website, k-state.edu/landon. Bag check provisions will be available for bags not meeting the clear bag policy.
Doors to the auditorium will open at 9:30 a.m. Due to the additional security measures for this lecture, all attendees are asked to allot sufficient time to be seated by 10:20 a.m.
