  3. Armin Mühsam: The Unburdened Present

    Because the present is a product of the past and thus of history, there is no such thing as an unburdened present, neither in life nor in art. This ironic meaning of "The Unburdened Present" does not stop with Armin Mühsam’s art but extends to historical events and fates of people whose lives are dramatized in programming that accompanies the show.

  4. "In Passing" exhibition, Flor Widmar

    Current K-State ceramics area artist in residence Flor Widmar was California born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico; she earned an MFA at Cranbrook Academy of Art and BFA from Sierra Nevada College. Widmar has exhibited in Denmark, Japan and numerous venues across North America. "In Passing" stems from the elaborate memorials made to honor and mourn those lost; beautiful-yet-tragic structures built on highways and country roads in U.S. and many other nations. The future of these roadside remembrances is uncertain.

    Events presented and funded by SGA Fine Arts Fee. Part of the Kansas State University Department of Art Visiting Artists Series for 2018-19 season.

  1. Voices: Art Linking Asia and the West

    One section of the Seaton Gallery will highlight the back-and-forth exchange of aesthetics and ideas between East and West through objects in the museum’s permanent collection, made by artists who traveled between the two regions. This project is a collaboration between curator Aileen June Wang and University of Kansas art history professors Sherry Fowler and Maki Kaneko.

  2. Pete Souza: Two Presidents, One Photographer
