  3. Voices: Art Linking Asia and the West

    One section of the Seaton Gallery will highlight the back-and-forth exchange of aesthetics and ideas between East and West through objects in the museum’s permanent collection, made by artists who traveled between the two regions. This project collaboration between curator Aileen June Wang and University of Kansas art history professors Sherry Fowler and Maki Kaneko.

    Exhibition featured through Jan. 13 at Flint Hills Discovery Center. North American bison herds were long as much a part of the prairie as native grasslands. By the millions; as wide as the horizon. Flint Hills Discovery Center celebrates the bison's history and significance and spotlights important preservation efforts to strengthen the species' very existence on the Great Plains of Kansas.

  2. Tuttle Creek Eagle Day

    January 5, 2019, 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM @ Fire station located on the corner of Denison and Kimball Avenues in Manhattan, Kansas

    The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and Milford Nature Center provide an up-close look at some live native birds of prey. The day will end with an eagle watching tour at Tuttle Creek Lake. Winter eagle watching is particularly spectacular and January is an ideal time to view these magnificent birds. Buses will provide transportation for the tour from collection points the fire station located on the corner of Denison and Kimball Avenues.
