Current KSU Confucius Institute Chinese teacher and second-year graduate student in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages at Jilin University, Ma Man has studied Chinese calligraphy since childhood with the guidance of her father. Discover the art of other professional Chinese calligraphers, Chinese traditional painters, and her own calligraphy works in this exhibition.

Traveling exhibition of richly colored prints the first solo exhibition of Norma Bassett Hall’s work since her death in 1957. Hall was the only female founding member of the Prairie Print Makers, Kansas-based organization established during Great Depression to promote American artists’ work. Up to six bands will be selected to compete for cash prizes (Aug. 20 deadline). Winner(s) may also receive the chance to perform at additional future UPC events.Requirements:
• Submit audio audition: CD, high-quality mp3 files or YouTube link of at least two original songs preferred. Bands who submit recordings prior to the deadline may receive airtime on a local radio station for promotional purposes. Recordings must be of standard air quality.
• Open call for applicants; preference given accordingly: At least one member of band a current K-State student (confirmed with active K-State ID) or K-State alumni within last 5 years (confirmed through Alumni Center).
• Entries due by 9 p.m. Sept. 3
• Bands notified no later than Sept. 6
