Notable objects include a section of original seating from Wareham Opera House, penny-farthing bicycle owned by Guy Varney, hand-carved sunflower clock made from local wood for the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, 1893.Many objects on view have been rarely exhibited. Exhibition explores complexity of borders and frontiers in the Midwest through the work by artists Artemio Rodríguez and Fidencio Fifield-Perez. Rodríguez's practice transcends the boundaries of printmaking, and engages the public through mobile printmaking studio/gallery, the GraficoMovil. Born in Mexico and raised in the U.S., Fifield-Perez explores issues of migration, labor, and the politicization of borders through the manipulation of maps, newspaper cuttings and paper.
