Rainbows & Stars with Dr. Larry Weaver

Saturday, September 21, 2019

Kids will break down the light spectrum with Dr. Larry Weaver, K-State physicist, by looking at different light sources. They'll also look at women astronomers, like Vera Rubin, who were particularly important in figuring out what stars are made of. And make rainbows, of course!
Dr. Larry Weaver is a multi-talented physicist at Kansas State University. He has mostly published in atomic physics, including high energy physics, cosmology, and condensed matter physics. There is no particular pattern to his research; instead he tries to help solve puzzles that him and his colleagues come up with in their work.
