Astronomy for Everyone: Size & Scale of the Universe

Friday, June 14, 2019

Exciting family program for ages-and-up. Kevin Manning, astronomer with Look Up to the Stars, leads 90-minute presentation to look at matter from subatomic particles to superclusters of galaxies and the entire universe. A virtual journey throughout the cosmos to describe celestial objects and their formation and relative sizes compared to one another.

Truly exciting images and video segments bring the point home. Weather permitting, audience invited outdoors to view celestial objects, such as the ice crystal rings of Saturn and craters on the Moon, using a powerful hand-crafted telescope.
