Riley County Genealogical Society presents "The Willows"

Sunday, March 31, 2019

For the readers of Orphan Train comes the true story of a second wave of humanity that traveled to the Midwest by train. Not well documented in American history, over 100,000 pregnant, unwed young women traveled mostly by train to Kansas City in the early to mid-1900s. Author, KelLee Parr, will talk about how he got started searching for his biological grandmother's information at the Kansas State Historical Society, a little about the search and reunion with his grandmother, and how he came to write his first book.
