You'll want to hop off the bench, grip a bat and belt one out of the park! There are multiple layers of involvement within the sport: player, manager/coach, umpire, scorekeeper or voracious fan. This exhibition contends with how each facet of the game is broken down into math and science.

    Bee Bootcamp Beginning Beekeepers Join us for a day of basic beekeeping… Saturday August 8th from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. Honeybee biology How to prepare for bees; location, equipment and supplies How to obtain and install bees How to care for bees How to examine a hive How to recognize pests and diseases and what to do about them How to harvest honey and market it How to move bees When and how to feed bees How to get them through winter How to use bees wax and other products of the hive We’ll even put a bee hive together so that you can see how to build an unassembled hive!   3. You'll Never Run Alone 5K (run /walk)

    In September 2018, long-time youth and Manhattan High School Soccer Coach, Frank Alonso was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Even though this was devastating news, he was ready to fight. Unfortunately, 35 days after his diagnosis, Frank lost his battle with cancer. To honor their husband and father, the Alonso family started the You’ll Never Run Alone 5K. The race raises funds and awareness for K-State’s Johnson Cancer Research Center's multidisciplinary team of researchers, committed to developing better technologies for finding pancreatic cancer earlier and treating it more successfully.

They also donate a percentage of their sales to our organization, so come have some great food and drinks while you meet our dogs every Wednesday from 6-9 pm. We will not be there if it is raining or bad weather.

    "K-State Fans: Are You Ready?" is the popular rallying cry before the Wildcats' football team storms onto the field each Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The excitement fans exhibit at home games is cranked up before each season at Purple Power Play in the Park, hosted in City Park the Thursday and Friday before each season-opening football game. Larry Norvell Band Shell is the center of activity as vendors circle the park and K-State Pride of Wildcat Land performs on stage with cheerleaders and Classy Cat dancers.
    Any appearance by Willie Wildcat sends children and adults alike into a frenzy of excitement. More fun, coaches address the throngs of purple-clad fans each night of the rally with fireworks to culminate the event.

The Meadowlark Parkinson Fund helps support services for the community to improve the quality of life for all those affected by Parkinson’s disease including patients, caregivers, therapists and nurses.
