Settlers landed on American soil in 1607 unacquainted to the challenges they would face to build new lives. In this interactive exhibit, visitors take on colonist's life where choices made determine your fate. If you're lucky, you just might survive the year.
January 26, 2020, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Riley County Historical Museum
The Riley County Historical Society and Museum will celebrate Kansas Day with refreshments and special tours, Sunday, January 26, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Riley County Historical Museum, 2309 Claflin Road, Manhattan. We will also celebrate fifty years of the Goodnow House being a State Historic Site.
Kansas became a state one hundred and fifty nine years ago, on January 29, 1861. That is also the year that the Goodnow House was built. In July 1969, just over fifty years ago, the Goodnow House became a State Historic Site, one of seventeen historic properties in the State Historic Site system. Admission is free and everyone is invited.
