Full weekend entertainment slate

Honey DewdropsTwo business days in the book this week, and we can already start looking at the weekend in Manhattan! Always plenty to do, and Sept. 12-13 is no different! The Color Run is an impressive display of unfettered joy wrapped into a 5K race. That's on Saturday morning, and with the Cats on the road, the race starts and finishes at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. If you missed the season opener, here's a good chance to see the stadium and cheer on the runners.

There's also the Mini Maker Faire in Aggieville, and speaking of impressive displays ... you'll see a compilation of very cool creations. Marvel at the Makers on Moro! Family Day at Flint Hills Discovery Center is Sunday, with free admission to exhibitions, children's area and theater. Only two weekends left to catch In The Dark exhibit at the Discovery Center, and grab a sunny-day picnic in Blue Earth Plaza! Sunset Zoo has its normal weekend hours, open until 5 p.m. to check in on the cheetahs and chimps.

Plus new exhibits at Strecker-Nelson and the Kemper Gallery in the K-State Student Union, with an always-interesting collection at Beach Museum on campus. And speaking of campus entertainment, tickets remain for Jay Leno's standup show on Friday night at McCain Auditorium. Last, certainly not the least, the Honey Dewdrops perform on Friday night at Manhattan Arts Center. The duo couples banjo and guitar into some sweet folk music in a 7:30 p.m. performance.

Not bad for a post-holiday, non-football weekend in Manhattan. Book a reservation with us right away ... don't let September slip away without a Visit to Manhattan!
