We had a lovely weekend in The Little Apple®- got some rain, but still enjoyed the sunshine and some moderate temps! Here are a few updates for your Monday morning.

Applications Now Available for Sunset Zoo’s New Daycare Program – Zoo Sprouts!

A two-week initial application process kicked-off at yesterday's open house.
The completed form must be received by 5:00 p.m. on June 23. Applications received during these two weeks will be entered into a system that will randomly select applicants filling the 15 available spots and building the waitlist. Families will be notified by Wednesday, June 26. Download the application form.

More About Zoo Sprouts

Zoo Sprouts is a new and unique, nature-based daycare option for children in the Manhattan area. The program operates year-round, Monday through Friday with drop off as early as 7:30 a.m. and pick up as late as 5:30 p.m. Children must be 2 ½  years old before starting with the Zoo Sprouts program, and can stay enrolled until they enter kindergarten. Bluemont Avenue Improvement Project to Begin

On Monday, June 10, weather permitting, a local roadway improvement project will begin on a two-block portion of Bluemont Avenue from Manhattan Avenue east to 11th Street. Project work includes grading and surfacing, storm sewer and traffic signal installation, and the addition of a raised median in the center of Bluemont Avenue. Work will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with some occasional Saturday work.

The Bluemont Avenue improvement project will be constructed in phases to allow for traffic flow through the area.

This project is funded by T-WORKS, the transportation program passed by the Kansas Legislature in May 2010. Find out more about this and other T-WORKS projects at:
