August is here, which means back to school, Halloween and PSL’s are on the horizon for the changing of seasons. Summer feels like it just got started! Call us crazy, but we want to continue to embrace the summer vibes in August. We’ve listed five places in Manhattan that keep the summer vibes going.
I’m not sure if the list could start out with anything, but the Pool House in downtown Manhattan. The restaurant features a menu or as they like to call it concession items inspired by pool side dining. Gourmet hot dogs, nachos and more will have you thinking of days at the pool. Not to mention their extensive drink menu with drinks for adults and kids. Drink options range from limeades to rum punch and Mai Tai! No sunscreen needed for this pool day experience.
The Little Grill has total lake day vibes and you won't be thinking about your 9 to 5 here. Head out towards Tuttle Creek Lake and experience a menu with Jamaican flavors. The Little Grill offers a Caribbean inspired menu with a laid back atmosphere. Jerk chicken, bob sled burrito and rasta pasta are some favorites there. The fun atmosphere will make you feel like its 95 and sunny.
Think adult summer fun at Liquid Art Winery. This Kansas vineyard features their own wines, ciders, artisan pizza and smoked cheeses. Sit out on their patio and look out over the beautiful vineyard intertwined in the Flint Hills. We forgot to mention your pup can sit out on the patio with you as you sip your rosé.
AJ’s NY Pizzeria is in the heart of downtown Manhattan. Sit inside or outside and enjoy a great view of downtown Manhattan. They have a variety of specialty pizza that is sure to please anyone, not to mention the delicious garlic knots and toasted ravioli. If you’re looking to enjoy some summer greens opt for their salads, which come in huge portion sizes! Be sure to head out to the patio to snap a selfie at the beautiful mural titled Bicicleta Sem Freio.
New to Aggieville, Fat Shack is the place to go for your late night eats and those greasy foods that are good for the soul! The menu features milkshakes, fried Oreos, fat sandwiches, burgers and anything else you can fry. Their menu makes you reminisce about county fairs and old-time diners as you sip your milkshake. We won’t judge if you dip your fries in the milkshake. Eat inside in their quick service style or take it to go and enjoy in City Park a couple of blocks from Fat Shack.
Although we can't prolong the summer, we can still enjoy some of Manhattan's favorite that feature a summer like theme. What's your go-to eatery in Manhattan?
