Few things were as hot as Kansas State Wildcats’ basketball before last week’s minor detour in Texas. Maybe the rose-embroidered high-top sneakers that have been an online sensation. Mad hotness. K-State has rocketed atop the Big 12 Conference standings, a revival just in time to lead a strong closing kick with four Saturday home games on the slate during February and March.
Purple processions each Saturday
Here in Manhattan, the madness might as well begin next week (Feb. 5) when the archrival Kansas Jayhawks visit the Octagon of Doom. The Bram will be lit as a battle for first place unfolds on ESPN. What’s great about K-State’s Big 12 schedule beyond next week’s midpoint is all remaining dates place the Wildcats in Manhattan each Saturday after Feb. 9. Four straight games starting Feb. 16 (Iowa State) through March 8 (Oklahoma), and every Saturday you can catch the Cats at the Octagon. K-State men's schedule
Be here for big-time b-ball
In fact, the last seven games – beginning with Iowa State – are either Bram-bound or Big Monday (ESPN-televised games Feb. 18 through March 4). Don’t miss the opportunity to squeeze MHK into your travel plans. Aside from hoops, Manhappenin on weekends is already a live wire. Pair with top-20 hoops and you’ve got a recipe set to sizzle. Downtown, da ’Ville and plenty of great stops for a quick two- or three-day getaway.
Also upcoming in MHK
Check out our 41st Saint Patrick’s Day celebration March 9 (we’ll save that topic for next month’s blog). If you’re a K-Stater, you’ve found a spot you love full well. If you pull for the Purple, we’re all goin’ wild for the Wildcats as they contend for the top of the Big 12 Conference.
