"Waterplaces" is a suite of 101 drawings on vellum paper. The exhibition will also present the artist’s 2018 Friends of the Beach Museum of Art Gift Print, "Dancing on the Table." This work reflects Benson's interest in water sources that flow under ground such as the Ogallala Aquifer in parts of Western Kansas and surrounding states. Benson brings attention to this hidden natural treasure in a chine colle´ lithograph with gold leaf and coloring applied by hand.

Chad Alligood, chief curator of American art at Huntington Library (San Marino, Calif.), will serve as juror and announce award winners at the exhibition opening.

This workshop gives Kansans the knowledge of how their forefathers built these sturdy fences. The historic stone fences are highlights of the Kansas Native Stone Scenic Byway, sponsor of this hands-on workshop. Participants learn nine essential elements for successful stone fence building and repair.
