  2. Fronteras/Frontiers Exhibition

    Exhibition explores complexity of borders and frontiers in the Midwest through the work by artists Artemio Rodríguez and Fidencio Fifield-Perez. Rodríguez's practice transcends the boundaries of printmaking, and engages the public through mobile printmaking studio/gallery, the GraficoMovil. Born in Mexico and raised in the U.S., Fifield-Perez explores issues of migration, labor, and the politicization of borders through the manipulation of maps, newspaper cuttings and paper.

  3. Water Stories by Lynn Benson

    "Waterplaces" is a suite of 101 drawings on vellum paper. The exhibition will also present the artist’s 2018 Friends of the Beach Museum of Art Gift Print, "Dancing on the Table." This work reflects Benson's interest in water sources that flow under ground such as the Ogallala Aquifer in parts of Western Kansas and surrounding states. Benson brings attention to this hidden natural treasure in a chine colle´ lithograph with gold leaf and coloring applied by hand.

  4. Here and Now: KSU Dept. of Art Faculty Exhibition

    March 6, 2018, 10:00 AM - May 12, 2018, 5:00 PM @ Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art

    Exhibition represents studio practices by 15 members of the K-State studio art faculty. These works have been made within the last two years and vary in concept and construction. The artwork features the disciplines of ceramics, drawing, fibers, graphic design, painting, photography, sculpture, and new media. Chad Alligood, chief curator of American art at Huntington Library (San Marino, Calif.), will serve as juror and announce award winners at the exhibition opening.

    BatCats are 20 games into the season as the Austin Peay Governors come to MHK for games 20 and 21; the Govs come off a 28-win campaign in which they won 14 games in the Ohio Valley Conference. Ten more non-conference games remain for K-State, with just four more at Tointon Family Stadium in Manhattan.
